SOLK Playful Nature Collection

Flying Falcor

Type: Block repeat

Tile dimensions: 35x35 cm

Origin: Marine life comes with naturally interesting characters, lines and details for drawing, which was my goal to capture.

The pattern is named after my parents white shimmering carp Falcor, who sadly was stolen from his pond by a heron. Although Falcor was not a Flying Fish in his earth life, he may be now, exploring the elements of both water and skies together with the friends who went with him.

Horse Mess

Type: Half drop repeat

Tile dimensions: 30x30 cm

Origin: Marine life comes with naturally interesting characters, lines and details for drawing, which was my goal to capture. As always with selected, contrasting elements to reflect the SOLK essence.

The pattern is named after my parents white shimmering carp Falcor, who sadly was stolen from his pond by a heron. Although Falcor was not a Fly Fish in his earth life, he may be now, exploring the elements of both water and skies together with the friends who went with him.

Odiles

Type: Half drop repeat

Tile dimensions: 27x30 cm

Origin: I remember seeing a picture of a melanistic alligator. I always seek for something that makes my motifs somewhat out of the box, and often you do not need to look further than to nature itself. Reality beats the poem. The name Odiles was something living in my mind quite early on, or more exactly the phrase "odile pile". During the process I regretted several times my choice of motif, as I realized the details of each odile took forever to draw. In the end, it was worth the struggle and the Odiles is now one of the SOLK staples.

Bengal Friends

Type: Half drop repeat

Tile dimensions: 35x35 cm

SOLK Toile de Jouy Collection

Jack Russel Terrier

Type: Half drop repeat

Tile dimensions: 32x45 cm

Origin: When I was growing up, Jack Russell Terriers were always a part of my family. They made perfect companions for many people in Flyinge, the equestrian hub of southern Sweden. Brave, loyal, clever problem-solvers—and sometimes mischievous problem-makers—they were ideal helpers in the daily routines of the stables.

Every element in this motif is inspired by Flyinge’s surroundings, from the oak tree in the middle of Warren Hastings Field to the iconic storks and, of course, the ever-present dogs.

Vorsteh

Type: Half drop repeat

Tile dimensions: 50x65 cm

Origin

I got to know Vorsteh dogs through my husband’s family. These graceful and intelligent dogs have long been trusted partners in both hunting and daily life. Raised amidst the rolling plains and serene forests of Östergötland, they share a bond with the land that runs generations deep. This region is rich with cultural heritage and storied buildings that stand as wings of history. All the element of this pattern is inspired by the characters, history, and my personal love for southeastern Sweden.
